About our School

At Rushall NS we aim to provide a happy, positive and secure learning environment where each child can develop socially, academically and spiritually at their own pace. Our ethos reflects and respects the values and traditions of the community in which it is situated. School starts at 9:20 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. School is open to receive pupils from 9.10 am everyday.

The school consisting of just two classrooms was built in 1881. An extension consisting of a SET classroom, a spacious staffroom and an office was added in 2013. There is a basketball court and a playing area to the front of the school. A playing pitch, suitable for hurling, football, rounders etc. and the school garden are situated beside the main building.

On Pancake Day, all students eagerly awaited their turn to decorate their pancakes with toppings of their choice. From chocolate spread to juicy strawberries, homemade honey the possibilities were endless!
We had an amazing opportunity to welcome a special guest speaker, Mr. Kenneally from the Heritage Council of Ireland, who is an expert on birds of prey.
All students at our school had a fantastic time celebrating St. Brigid's Day. One of the highlights of the day was when the entire school gathered to make St Brigid's crosses using rushes.
