Making St. Brigid's Crosses in the Senior Room
Last Friday, the 31st of January, the senior room buzzed with excitement as the children dived into the time-honoured tradition of making St. Brigid's Crosses. The atmosphere was electric, as everyone listened intently to the instructions, eager to create their own unique crosses.
You could feel the determination in the air as the children worked hard, their fingers deftly weaving the rushes. What a sense of achievement it was when they completed their first cross! The joy on their faces was priceless and truly reflected their hard work.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the day was the spirit of cooperation. Children were spotted helping each other, sharing tips and encouragement, which enhanced the experience for everyone involved. By the end of the session, every child had at least one cross to take home, with many eager to bring additional rushes to craft more for their relatives and family members.
It was a wonderful day filled with learning, creativity, and a touch of Irish culture that will surely be remembered!
