We had an absolute blast on Friday, the 14th of June, at the Cumann na mBunscol Rounders Blitz day. Despite a few rain showers, the sun shone brightly, making it a perfect day for some rounders action.
In the first match against Timahoe, we didn't have the strongest start and found ourselves trailing 3-1 after the first innings. However, we regrouped and put on a stellar performance in the second innings, clinching the victory with a score of 14-3. Our teamwork was top-notch, and we fielded exceptionally well.
The second game pitted us against Killeen. Batting first, we scored a solid 10 runs. Our fielding was on point, limiting Killeen to just 1 run in their first innings. In their second innings, we held them off entirely, securing a convincing win of 10-1 with an innings to spare. Once again, our team worked very well together and fielded superbly.
With two wins under our belt, we've advanced to the finals day for the first time ever! The excitement is palpable as we look forward to seeing how far this talented team can go. Could this be our year to win the competition? Fingers crossed!
