On 5th November, our school had the pleasure of hosting Paul Finch, an artist and crafts person renowned for his expertise in traditional crafts. With a strong focus on sustainability and a deep appreciation for our natural environment, Paul brought a unique and engaging experience to our pupils.
Paul split his visit into two sessions, catering to two different classes, where he introduced the children to the art of working with willow and locally sourced natural materials. His enthusiasm was infectious as he demonstrated various techniques for weaving and creating unique craft projects. The pupils were not just passive observers; they eagerly rolled up their sleeves to create their own masterpieces under Paul’s guidance.
Throughout the workshop, Paul shared interesting facts about the willow tree, its various uses, and the importance of sustainability in crafting. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and creativity, and it was clear that every child was captivated by the experience.
We are incredibly grateful to Paul Finch for his wonderful workshop, which undoubtedly sparked a newfound interest in traditional crafts among our students. It was a day filled with learning, creativity, and smiles!
