We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news from our New Green Schools initiative! We’ve recently kicked off a project focusing on collecting plastic bottles and cans for recycling. It’s not just about getting our recycling game on point; we’re also aiming to enrich our Biodiversity programme.
Our first week has been nothing short of amazing! Since last Friday, the children have demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm and commitment. On our very first day of collecting, we managed to amass enough bottles to raise €18.95! And just today, Monday, we’ve added another €16.30 to our collection. This effort will go towards purchasing a birdbox webcam for one of our two bird boxes, which are currently home to some lovely nesting birds.
The new birdcam is priced at €180, and we’re excited about what it will mean for our school community. Once we have it installed, we’ll add it to our school website, allowing everyone to watch our resident birds as they hatch their eggs and take their very first flights! It’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with nature and witness the wonders of wildlife right on our doorstep. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this green journey together!
